About the Medina Mall

Why we are here and what we hope to achieve

Background

The Sea-Tac/Tukwila area is home to multiple cultural backgrounds since the late 1970s.

The Sea-Tac center was a commercial building that allowed ethnic business owners thrive

In 2016 SeaTac officials voted to have the Sea-Tac center demolished for future apartment development

Medina Mall officially opened its doors in 2022 to vendors and local community members after the shut down of the Sea-Tac center in 2016. Many business owners, employees, and vendors were forcibly removed and displaced from their established jobs. The community would also have one less place to find cultural communities and values.

In its first two years of operation the Medina Mall is placed in a great area of the Tukwila area for locals to visit and appreciate the middle eastern cultures and support locally owned business. We invite and welcome all members of of the PNW to be included in our mission of inclusion and visibility.
